After studying law, economics and business administration in Vienna, Graz and the USA, Wolfgang founded the management consulting and investment company Dr. Alkier GmbH. In 1986, a branch in New York, Consult USA, Inc., was added, which was sold in the early 1990s. From 1996 to 2001 he was also a member of the state parliament and municipal council in Vienna, with other functions such as deputy chairman of the control committee and a member of the GR committee for finance and economic policy. At the same time, Wolfgang has been involved in fund selection and portfolio management since 1992, which resulted in the founding of Absolute Return Consulting GmbH (ARC) in 2002.
