Bill was recognized as one of the top 50 to 100 venture capitalists in the US by Forbes Magazine in its annual Midas List on three occasions. Clearstone Fund I was the #1 fund out of about 700 funds listed by CalPERS in its 2011 IRR list. Bill's past board and observer roles include United Online/NetZero, Overture (acquired by Yahoo! in 2003), PayPal.com (acquired by eBay in 2002), The Chronicle Publishing Company (The San Francisco Chronicle and KRON television), Cooking.com (acquired by Target in 2013) and WeddingChannel.com (acquired by The Knot in 2006).
