Ty grew up in Red Lodge, Montana and graduated from Red Lodge High School. He then attended Montana State University-Billings and graduated in 1995 with a degree in Business Administration and received the Distinguished Alumnus award in 2020. Ty later attended the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington and graduated with honors in 2006. Ty worked in the banking industry for 23 years prior to coming to Allied Investment Advisors, having held executive level positions at both Yellowstone Bank and Stockman Bank.
