After graduating from Virginia Tech with a degree in Electrical Engineering, Tom spent his early career in technical product management, business development, and managing lines of business. While this provided an excellent opportunity to use his problem-solving skills and strategic focus it lacked personal impact. This led him to make a career change to financial services and to become a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ to help individuals lead better financial lives. An advantage to becoming a CFP® later in his career is that Tom and his wife have sat in the client seat of other advisors.
