Tom Bauer serves as the Deputy Chief Investment Officer (CIO) at Pennsylvania Public School Employees' Retirement System (Pa. PSERS), reporting to the Chief Investment Officer of the $70 billion public defined benefit pension fund. In his role, he holds responsibilities for overseeing private markets, including private equity, venture capital, private real estate, private credit, private infrastructure, and hedge funds. Additionally, he manages external managers in public markets, covering equity, fixed income, real assets, foreign currency hedging, and tail risk mitigation. Tom also chairs the Asset Allocation Committee, overseeing the fund's overall asset allocation strategy.
