Before joining Kaiser Permanente, Steve Algert worked for the Berkeley Endowment Management Company in 2021 as a Managing Director. Prior to BEMCO, Steve was the Assistant Treasurer and a Managing Director at the J. Paul Getty Trust, where he was responsible for distressed debt, credit-related, and hedge fund investments. Prior to joining the Getty, Steve was employed by the Treasurer’s Office of the Regents of the University of California, managing investments for the pension plan and endowment. Prior to that, he was employed in the fund of hedge funds group at Citigroup Alternative Investments and prior to Citigroup, he was employed in fixed income research and risk management at BARRA.
