Steen is a co-founder of Chestnut Funds and oversees the firm's investment activities along with capital, asset, and portfolio management for the funds. Steen has worked with established commercial real estate firms including Trammell Crow and CBRE in Washington, DC and has also worked with and been an investment partner with various commercial real estate development firms. Immediately before founding Chestnut he joined a retail development partnership and during his tenure the firm acquired and developed retail properties in the Southeast U.S. for which he was responsible for securing equity and debt financing along with structuring the acquiring partnerships.
