Paul moved to the Napa Valley in 1990 after spending most of the 1980’s working with many of the largest financial services firms on Wall Street. They were his customers while he was President and CEO of Angeles Securities Corporation in Los Angeles. He quit that job in spring of 1989, disgusted with what he perceived to be the self-serving practices and conflicts of interest many firms had, including Angeles. He didn’t know anyone in the Napa Valley. He didn’t know exactly what he wanted to do, except to live a good and meaningful life.
