A mechanical engineer with a degree from PUC-Minas (Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais), he led several teams during his time at Cemig until, in 2008, he was appointed manager of the company's Operational Efficiency Project. He also served as a representative of internal committees and as Superintendent of Generation and Transmission Planning and Operations. He served on the Minas Gerais State Water Resources Council and the Igarapava Hydroelectric Consortium Board. He served as an alternate, full, and chairman of the Forluz Board of Directors before becoming a director.
