Matthew Werner joined Emory Investment Management as a managing director of investments in 2018. Werner manages both the private and public portfolios, with a focus on credit and multi-strategy investments. Werner joined Emory from Spider Management Company, the investment office for the University of Richmond in Virginia, where he served as the director of credit, multi-strategy and emerging markets since 2005. Prior to Spider, he was a consultant at Barra, a financial market analytics provider. Werner holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from The Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from the University of Richmond’s Robins School of Business.
