After completing his MBA in 1989, Mark began his career with Canada Trust where he was exposed to all facets of the investment industry and also learned that concentration in two stocks is generally not a formula for long-term success. In 1992, by then a Chartered Financial Analyst, Mark joined Merchant Private Trust (which became Connor Clark Private Trust) as a Portfolio Manager. He also assisted with management of the firm’s fixed income assets. He progressed quickly to Vice President and took on additional responsibilities as an equity analyst in industrial services.
