About Me
Born in Montreal in 1928, André Chagnon founded his first electrical services company in 1957, at the age of 29. Following in the footsteps of his father, a successful electrical contractor, he went into business by creating ER Chagnon et Fils Ltée. Seven years later, he sold his business to devote himself entirely to cable television. In 1964, he founded Vidéotron Ltée, a regional cable television company which under his leadership would become the third largest company in this sector in Canada, and the largest in Quebec.
