After having served in the U.S. Submarine Force, Larry began his investment career at Travelers Insurance in 1985 as a fixed income securities analyst and advanced to portfolio manager, responsible for $4.5 billion of fixed income investments. In 1994, he joined Peoples Bank as a Vice President, managing, analyzing and trading their bond portfolio. Larry joined Salomon Smith Barney in 1996 where, as a financial consultant, he worked with individuals as well as small businesses and non-profit organizations, managing and providing investment advice.
