Katharine (Kathy) McDonald is president of Global Specialty, a business unit of Assurant, Inc., responsible for the company’s multifamily housing insurance business and other service lines. Ms. McDonald’s career with Assurant and its predecessor companies began in 1984 when she joined American Bankers Insurance Group as an accountant working out of the Miami office. In 1987, she left American Bankers and joined Price Waterhouse as a tax accountant, returning to American Bankers in 1989 as a tax supervisor.
