Originally called KBL Financial, Kathy founded the firm that would become Matter in 1990, with just two employees. Her vision for a family-focused financial service company originated from her early career at Chase Manhattan Bank in New York City, where she helped develop and deliver one of the first financial education and planning centers in the country. KBL’s initial offering – providing fee-only planning and advisory services to families – helped define the model of service that is the foundation of Matter today.
