Karen Mercer leads AARP’s treasury, investments, insurance, and corporate finance functions. She ensures that the resources of AARP are managed and invested to carry out the mission of AARP to enhance the quality of life for all as we age. She is known for leading people and initiatives which produce successful results. In addition to her career roles, she has served on boards of several nonprofit organizations and currently serves on the board of the DC/Maryland Chapter of the National MS Society. She is a passionate advocate for diversity in organizations and in changing policies and systems to make greater diversity possible. She earned both a BBA and MBA from Texas Christian Universit
