Although Karen now resides in Rehoboth, MA she still considers herself a Rhode Islander. She grew up in Warwick and graduated from URI in 1993 with a double major of Italian and Business. After graduation she moved to Boston to work for Putnam Investments in their Portfolio management division. During that time, Karen’s older brother pitched a business idea to her.
