John joined SCM as a principal in 2006. Before joining SCM, John worked for 12 years at William O'Neil & Company. While at William O'Neil, John worked for over two years as an analyst directly with the company's founder Bill O'Neil, and for eight years advising institutional clients in the United States and Canada on the composition and allocation of investment portfolios. John holds a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) designation. Furthermore, John is also a CFP or Certified Financial Planner helping SCM clients in their personal financial areas. John completed his undergraduate course work at UCLA where he earned Magna Cum Laude honors.
