John was raised in Arlington, Texas - between Dallas and Ft. Worth. He moved to Houston in 1973. John attended the University of Texas at Arlington from 1966 to 1970 and later received a Bachelor of Science degree in University Studies with concentrations in economics, government and mathematics. He completed his Certified Financial Planner studies in 1980. John is a pioneer in wealth management services. He worked with a local financial planning firm from 1974 to 1979.
