Joe Dekker, a Managing Director, is head of Risk Management and Portfolio Strategy at Makena. Joe is responsible for the construction and risk management of internal and external multi-asset class portfolios and serves as the portfolio manager for many of our Outsourced CIO (OCIO) clients. Prior to the formation of Makena, Joe was an associate at the Stanford Management Company, where he was responsible for asset allocation and risk analytics in support of the Stanford Endowment. Joe holds a B.S. degree in Finance from the University of North Carolina-Wilmington, where he graduated with honors, and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School. Joe is a CFA Charterholder.
