David Spergel is the President of the Simons Foundation. David Spergel was the Founding Director of the Center for Computational Astrophysics at the Simons Foundation's Flatiron Institute. He is the Charles Young Professor of Astrophysics Emeritus at Princeton University. Spergel was a faculty member at Princeton from 1987 to 2019 and served as Department Chair for a decade. Spergel is one of the co-chairs of NASA's WFIRST (now Roman) science team.
