Carina became SDCERS' Chief Investment Officer in 2022. Before that, she worked as the Director, Pension and Trust Investments, at Sempra. Carina earned her MBA in Finance from the Wharton School of Business and is a CFA and CAIA Charterholder. She also holds an MA in International Studies from the University of Pennsylvania and a BA in Economics/International Area Studies and German Studies from UCLA.
