Amy McGarrity was named Chief Investment Officer (CIO) in 2017 and Chief Operating Officer (COO) in 2022. As CIO and COO she is responsible for managing over $76.8 billion for the pension plan in accordance with the Board of Trustees policies and state statutes and oversees PERA’s Operational and Benefit Services. Ms. McGarrity oversees portfolio and risk management for global equities, fixed income, real estate, private equity, and new investment opportunities.
