Abe Weldy, CFA, CAIA, joined the Indiana University Foundation in August 2005 as Director of Alternative Investments and was promoted to Senior Director, Investments in 2017. When Abe started at IUF, the endowment was managing roughly $1.1 billion in assets, and alternative investments represented 10% of the total pool. Today alternative investments comprise nearly half of the $2.6 billion endowment and have generated over $820 million in gains since inception. Abe has been an investment professional for over 20 years. Prior to joining IUF, he held positions at two high net worth/institutional wealth management firms based in Indianapolis and at a global mutual fund company based in Tampa
